Come to Jamaica

Posted on 11th Oct 2017 @ 10:54 AM

We live, work, play, do business on an island but we are not limited by the 10,991 km² that borders its territory.

An estimated 2.9 milliom people live on the island but even that does not limit our reach. Many Jamaicans now live overseas and can be found in the far corners of the world, but the largest pools of Jamaicans, , exist in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, other Caribbean islands, and all across the Caribbean Coast of Central America, namely PanamaNicaragua, and Honduras.

“Wi likkle but wi tallawah” - A common saying in Jamaica meaning "we're a small nation but we're strong-willed, we're determined and we refuse to be restrained by the boundaries of our small island", epitomizes who we are as a people.

Perhaps you have heard of Marcus Garvey, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Tessanne Chin, Herb McKenley, The Reggae Boyz, The Sunshine Girls, Alia Atkinson, Merlene Ottey, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Asafa Powell or even Usain Bolt. These are all Jamaicans and time and space would not allow us to share the names of the numerous others who claim Jamaica as their birthright.

There is just something naturally mystical about this island in the Caribbean sun, wouldn’t you like to experience it for yourself?
